
ROV - Remotely Operated Vehicle
SDI’s quartz MEMS MMQG and C-MIGITS™ III INS/GPS inertial sensing systems provide exceptional bias stability, low angle random walk values and superior vibration performance characteristics, tightly coupling a digital quartz IMU (DQI) and a Jupiter® 12-channel Coarse/Acquisition (C/A) Code engine, offering an extremely small, lightweight solution for use in Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV). The QRS116 angular rate sensor complements systems with the same inherent characteristics, providing an exceptionally small device capable of high reliability, long life performance. Excellent examples of this evolving capability are seen in ROV submarines where uses include navigation, camera platform stabilization and manipulator arm controls. These uses will be experienced further with the proliferation of mini-ROV robotic platforms and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV).
