AOL browser issue

Problems can occur with your browser if it is not compatible with the internet technology the website uses (this includes the Systron website) and it is possible that you may experience problems displaying the Systron website if you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer. (Internet Explorer is the default Microsoft browser installed with Windows and the browser that the majority of ISP's use).

AOL is one example of an ISP that has developed its own browser software to use in place of Internet Explorer and their browser may cause problems when trying to display the Systron website.

To access all of the features of the Systron website we recommend that you use the Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or above. However, if you are using an ISP that uses its own unique browser software (such as AOL), you can still use Internet Explorer to display the pages of the Systron website.

To do this, simply connect to the internet like you usually do, then minimize your ISP (such as AOL) browser page, and open Internet Explorer in a new window. Type the Systron website address (www.systron.com) in the IE's address bar. This will allow you to use Internet Explorer to display the pages on the Systron website, but your computer will still access the internet using your existing ISP. If you do not have Internet Explorer or wish to download an updated copy of Internet Explorer for free, please visit the Internet Explorer section of the Microsoft website at www.microsoft.com/ie

Internet explorer version 6.0 issue

There is a problem with the privacy settings within Internet Explorer 6 that can cause you to experience problems when trying to login to the Systron website. This problem doesn’t occur every time, but if you do have login problems after installing IE6, all you need to do is add the Systron website as a trusted site.

If you are unsure of which version you are using, please open Internet Explorer and click on the “Help>About Internet Explorer” at the top of the toolbar.

To do this simply complete the following steps:

1.Open your browser and click the work 'Tools' on the toolbar at the top of the screen. Select “Internet Options”.

2.Once the “Internet Options” box appears, click the tab marked “Security”. Click on the “trusted sites” icon and click the button that says 'Sites…'

3.Make sure that the box next to the statement “require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone” does NOT have a tick in it.

4.Type the Systron website address (http://www.systron.com) in to the space provided (under the words '”Add this web site to the zone”), then click “OK”. Then click “OK” again.

You may need to close your browser and re-open it and/or restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

How do I delete my temporary internet files/cached data?

Every time you visit a web page your computer will store temporary files in its memory to try and speed up the time it takes to display the page if you visit it again. However over time this can cause a number of problems if your computer has old versions of a page stored in its memory or if a large amount of pages are stored.

If you have old data stored in the temporary internet files on your computer it may occasionally prevent you from either logging on successfully to a website, or will cause your computer to display an old version of a web page that it has stored in its memory, rather than downloading a new updated version from the internet.

Therefore, if you are having problems reaching our website, having problems logging in or reaching pages successfully, or if you think you are not seeing an up to date version of one of the pages, please follow the instructions below:

1. On your computer click 'Start > Settings > Control Panel' and then double click 'Internet Options'. Or if you use Internet Explorer, open your browser and on the gray bar at the top select 'Tools > Internet Options'.
2. On Internet Options box that opens up, click on the 'General' tab.
3. In the section middle section entitled 'Temporary Internet Files' click the 'Delete files' button.
4. On the pop-up box click the 'delete all offline content' checkbox, and click OK.
5. It may take a few minutes to delete all of your temporary files if this has not been done for some time.

This results in Internet Explorer not being download these PDF file and get the error message says "requested site is unavailable or cannot be found."

Solution: Open Internet Explorer and click on the Tools menu item. Then, click on the Internet Options. From there, click on the Advanced Tab.
